Chlorine Dioxide is an EPA approved antimicrobial pesticide which can be used to kill or suppress harmful microorganisms on inanimate objects or surfaces. 1 Disinfect bacteria causing odors and messes directly at the source. Vapor fog for deep, complete environment decontamination.

BEDBUGS AND MITES

Chlorine Dioxide can be used to eliminate microscopic parasites living on the skin of warm-blooded host animals, such as birds and mammals. Use it as a shampoo and conditioner in baths and dips. It is safe for skin contact and is safe for you, and your pet, and animals. 7 In hospitals and laboratories, studies have shown that chlorine dioxide can kill bed bugs (Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus). It also has a 100% mortality rate by destroying the cell walls and organelles of pathogens. It is often difficult to eradicate bed bugs and can be time-consuming. 8 Exposure to chlorine dioxide at a relatively low level through vapor or fumigation is more effective and better for the environment compared to other disinfectants or fumigants. ClO2 is a strong, selective oxidizer allowing its gases to penetrate many hard-to-reach spaces and leaves no toxic residue. 9

ARTHROPODS

Each year, between three and five million people around the globe are affected by arthropod-borne diseases. 10 Chlorine dioxide acts as an insect repellent, a preventive, and a biting repellent. Arthropods die when they are infested with an insecticide containing chlorine dioxide. Most of the active ingredients in insecticides (including drugs for acaricides) have required high concentrations of chemicals. Insecticides containing chlorine dioxide have a stronger insecticidal effect (acaricidal activities) at a lower concentration and are safer for people and the environment.

Eradication of cockroaches, bedbugs, and other insects is often difficult with a high concentration of toxic chemicals that requires time-consuming approaches.

FLEAS, MITES & TICKS

Chlorine Dioxide is used to eradicate microscopic parasites that live on the surface of warm-blooded hosts, including birds and mammals, like fleas on a cat or dog. Simply used as shampoo and conditioner for baths or dips, safe on skin contact for both you and your pets. Once fleas are eradicated – treat the surroundings for ringworm with the various chlorine dioxide products.
Our sanitizing and deodorizing product is ideal for repelling and controlling insects as well as invasive pests such fleas and ticks. Chlorine Dioxide can be used to treat skin lesions or other effects of pests and insects directly on the skin, wound sites, and other skin lesions to ensure sterility. 16 Chlorine dioxide is EPA 17  approved for medical applications and disinfection on skin and surfaces. 18 Chlorine dioxide can be used as a shampoo or conditioner in baths and dips for your pet to eliminate fleas, lice, mites, and ticks. Fleas and ringworms can be controlled. After fleas have been eliminated, you can treat the surrounding area for ringworm using the different chlorine dioxide products.

Safety assessment by the EPA, The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

Regarding the treatment of HVAC systems; the use of a continuous release (gas) of Chlorine dioxide/sodium chlorite can be applied as an aqueous solution to hard surfaces such as floors and potentially result in inhalation exposure. For this assessment, the Agency estimated the air concentration to be 0.003 ppm, which is below the short-term RfC of 0.05 ppm, and therefore not of concern. For application to HVAC systems, this use is not of concern. For the continuous release, the estimated constant air concentration was 0.52 ppm, assuming no air exchange, and no build-up of chlorine dioxide over time because of the short half-life. 22

Put a few drops of concentrate and a few drops of activator into a glass or plastic container

2. Wait

Set aside for one minute and wait for the solution to turn an amber, yellow color.

3. Fill with Water

Add clean water to fill the rest of the container and you’re ready to sanitize

4. Start Cleaning

Find a surface you want to clean and use it just as you would a normal cleaner.
